On Hiatus

I will not have routine access to the computer or the Internet next week. I will likely be back on the air on 5 March or 6 March.

Please check back then.

Stay well, everyone.

Jack, Wayne and I REALLY enjoyed talking with you and Frank yesterday outside Lenny’s. Both of your stories were really interesting to us.

WOW, Frank wasn’t kidding about your website! Must really keep you busy. Seems like a labor of love, though.

We had GREAT seats yesterday: Section 111, Row 11, Seats 7and 8. Eleven rows DIRECTLY behind home plate, amongst scouts and Phillies’ executives. We even spoke with Tom Lepperd, an MLB umpiring supervisor. He had some things to say about the late-inning controversy re how many outs there were. He was evaluating the HP-ump.

We hope you two will join us over at GMS Field in Tampa in the future. I still have plenty of seats left for the remainder of this season – just give me a call or shoot me an email.

I see that you might be off-line until 5 or 6 March so you might not get this until your vacation is over, but DO keep us in mind for 2014 and beyond.

Don’t worry, though, I keep score at every game so I won’t talk your collective ears off!

By the way, my daughter went to Penn. She had graduated from ECU and was accepted into Penn’s accelerated nursing degree program for people with a degree and a science background. She received her BSN in 15 months from Penn and has been a pediatric nurse at the Carolina Medical Center (Levine Pediatric) in Charlotte since 2007.

Trivia: Which individual played for the Knicks, Rangers, and Yankees?

Please share this email with Frank, and enjoy the rest of your vacation! If you CAN make a game with us this year, please do; we’d love to have you – my treat! Take care and have fun, Barney

      Barney:

Welcome aboard. I am glad you enjoyed your first visit to the website. I surely enjoy writing these pieces and hope others enjoy reading them.

I have no answer for your trivia question – even if I think that “Rangers” might refer to the Texas Rangers and not the NY Rangers.

Enjoy the rest of your time in the warm weather. Here in DC we are bracing for snow starting tomorrow…

Curmudgeon: I hope your good will tour of North Korea with Ambassador Dennis Rodman was both fruitful and satisfying.

      Rich:

I happened to turn on This Week with George Stephanopolous on Sunday just as Dennis Rodman answered a question and thought for sure that Rod Serling was about to step out from behind the TV set to inform me that I had entered The Twilight Zone.
